Collaborative Art Piece Invitation: Self Portraits

I am working an art project to invite everyone during shelter-in. I would like to create a piece of art that brings everyone together and also gives people a chance to express and share about themselves. No artistic technique required!

I invite you to take time to reflect and express yourself, with all that you are carrying, through a simple piece of art. I invite you to take time to reflect and express yourself, with all that you are carrying, through a simple piece of art that doesn’t need to be complex. I will take everything and put it into one piece.

Activity: Create a self portrait your way. Create a piece of art about you. and submit it to be added to a collage/ mixed media piece. Like a quilt tying in different lives who live near and far away from each other

About this:
-This is essentially a portrait, though you don’t have to draw yourself. You can do whatever art or collage or writing that expresses you.
Ideas
-It can include an expression of how you are feeling at this time during the COVID-19 pandemic or in general
-It can be how you see yourself
-It can be a visual self portrait, in any medium.
-Pretty much however you want to interpret this.
-The medium is up to you- digital, drawing/painting, found object, photography, writing, etc. anything mailed needs to be safe to mail.

Getting it to me:
-It can be a physical piece of art or digital.
-2-dimensional non-digital art can be photographed and emailed or mailed to me. To get a mailing address, email nusevillegasart@gmail.com
-Physical art should be about the size of a half-sheet of paper (5.5″x8.5″)

I will take everything and put it into one piece. Each piece will also be photographed and documented.

examples: From 2000-2002, I did an installation inviting people to create art expressing themselves. Below are some examples to give inspiration.
