I would like to invite you all to another community art project: “Together, We Rise.” I first did this project with the students at a school during a lesson about Martin Luther King Jr.
The art assignment is simple:
You: Email nusevillegasart@gmail.com with your address.
Me: I will send you a blank feather on art paper (or however many are doing the project who will receive them at the address).
You: This feather represents you. Draw, collage, write, etc., on the feather to express you. Your choice how you do that.
Send it back to me when finished. Photograph it before you do.
Me: I will photograph each piece and document your name and city to archive it and assemble all the feathers into a collaborative art piece of two wings.
Feel free to get others involved and share.
